Prince, a singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, pioneered the Minneapolis Sound, blending genres like R&B, funk, rock, pop, punk, and new wave in the 1980s. Known for his versatility, he often played all instruments on his recordings. His music evolved from funk and soul to incorporate disco, jazz, punk, metal, and hip-hop, consistently featuring energetic tracks and soulful ballads. Over nearly forty years, Prince sold over 100 million albums and earned seven Grammys and an Oscar. His most popular songs include “1999”, “When Doves Cry”, “Purple Rain”, “Kiss”, and “Let’s Go Crazy.”
